I was raised a Jehovah's Witness and like most are aware, they presently belive that by and large everyone who dies ceases to exist. I accepted this fate for most of my life and I guess I still do for the most part, but now that I do not go to the meetings what am I to accept death to be, as I will die as well as my friends and family at some point. I think that idea of being in Gods memory made sense to me as I have excepted it for forty five of my fifty years of being alive. As I read the posts in here I see that there seems to be a firm conviction in many that there is a little flock that goes to heaven, though that has not made sense to me over the years cause how can you really know for sure with out thinking your insane or something it seems a rather important choice to make based upon a hunch. Anyway does anyone have some good resonable ideas as to what happens to us after we die? For this was the basis of my being and remaining a Jehovahs Witness over the years, they gave me what seemed to be a resonable ansure. Shane,

I celebrated a holiday that I called "Askiaski Day" When I was a Witness, it really made the elders wonder. It was a day where I drank lots of beer and over indulged and if possible I would invite other Witness's over they loved it. P.S. even a few elders do it even now.

This is a silly subject I know, but it seems those songs have a powerful meaning in that they teach, right or wrong they teach.

For Jehovah's Witness's or those who are not:
by Singing Man inis there any part of being a witness that you think is honestly the truth?
so many people use the term "truth" when in fact there is no way to prove it is the truth.
it used to be for me being raised a witness that i thought everything printed or said was the truth now i don't.

It used to be for me being raised a Witness that I thought everything printed or said was the truth now I don't. I am amazed how I was useing the term "truth" like it really was all the truth when none of it can be proved at all. So why call it the truth at all? Truth is applied to something that has been proven, how can that be said of the teachings of the Witness's or any religion, isn't it simply a matter of faith?

Did You Ever Feel Refreshed As A Jehovah's Witness???
by minimus inthe "truth" is supposed to be sooo "refreshing".
the publications talk about how "happy and refreshed" witnesses always are.

I taught a man how to read so he could read the bible. But then latter I learned it was teachings of man, and that hurt to learn this.

It is their draconian way of dealing with sinners is what proves to me they are NOT the true faith nor do they have inspiration from NO deity of loving origin.

I can not agree more, the witness's have a very conditional friendship, if your in a witness family and they are good witness's you must know that it will be very conditional based on how loyal you are to a publishing company. If you do not want to accept a particular line of reasoning or a aspect of their teaching you will be "marked" by most of them, if not shunned by mostly all of them if you are babtized. So, its a good idea to have as many friends as you can everywhere and anywhere you can, cause if its up to the witness's they will get in a position where you only have them, and from that position they can choke the life out of you socialy and cause you to feel like your not worthy unless you get on your knees and come crawling to them begging. Who wants to go through that, not me.
